When Japanese Race Queens Roamed at Sepang
Four years ago on this exact date marked the last time Super GT had their out-of-Japan race in Sepang, Malaysia. Many people speculated on the reasons why this was to be, but for racing fans and photographers in Thailand our lost was their gain.
And so instead of Sepang, the Super GT round which is held out of Japan has found it’s home in Buriram, Thailand. You can almost hear all the guys with cameras in Malaysia going “Why?!” as they look up into the sky, on their knees. But let’s not mourn too long about this loss, as it is still cheaper to fly to Thailand than Japan. There’s the added bonus of being able to photograph Thai race queens, some of them can be found on Cup E’s Facebook page. Maybe.
Here’s a fond trip down memory lane with our Fuuwah! SuperGT gallery.
Super GT 2011
Besides the Japanese race queens we had local girls Diana Panda, Pinkiee Hwang, Li Sha and the Clearwater Racing girls on race day to brighten up the atmosphere at Sepang.
Super GT 2012
Sonia Ng, Yumi Wong, Meggie Tan, Cookies Yap and many more. What more can guys ask for? That’s rhetorical. Please don’t answer it.
Super GT 2013
The final gallery, with everyone saying a sad sayonara to the Japanese race queens. The Malaysian girls working this year among many others are Kiiwii See, Leng Sean and Angel Won.
So there you have it. A look down memory lane on what was arguably Sepang’s best crowd puller after MotoGP and F1.
